Next Steps

Please complete the following steps in order to install JQuake.

  1. Place the .zip file in the folder you wish to run it from
  2. Please Note: Do not update by replacing previous version files. Also, the file path cannot contain any Unicode characters.
    We recommend you place it in C:\Program Files\

  3. Unzip the folder
  4. Open the folder and double click JQuake to run

Due to Apple's increased security policy regarding unsigned applications on Macs with Apple Silicon, you'll need to perform additional steps to bypass the "Application is damaged and can't be opened" error upon launch.

  1. Download and open the .dmg file
  2. Drag and Drop JQuake into Applications
  3. Open Terminal from Utilities and enter the following command:
  4. sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/JQuake.app
  5. Run JQuake from Applications

On Debian/Ubuntu, run sudo setup.sh and enter your password to install the pre-requisites, then run ./start.sh to launch JQuake.

JQuake is proprietary/closed-source software. You may not decompile or reuse any resources that are included with JQuake. We are not responsible for any issues that may arise from using this software.

JQuake receives Earthquake Early Warning bulletins from the Japan Meteorological Agency. The user must understand how it works and how to respond to it before using the software.
